The JMK Trust is delighted to once again be supporting an Assistant Director post at Birmingham Repertory Theatre to offer an Assistant Director position.
About the role at The Rep:
At the heart of this placement is the opportunity to be the Assistant Director on a children’s Christmas production in The Door, followed by community tour of Little Red Riding Hood directed by Associate Artist Caroline Wilkes.
This production will take place in the Door Theatre at The Rep followed by a community tour of libraries and community venues across the West Midlands. The Assistant Director will have the opportunity to work exclusively on the production through rehearsals, supporting the production creatively and practically, and monitor performances during the run. Followed by performing Assistant Director duties including workshop facilitation on tour.
This is a full-time placement based at Birmingham Repertory Theatre, from 13th November until 9th December 2023, then 2-3 days during the run at the Rep for show watch and tour rehearsal (dates tbc.) From 15th January to w/c 5th February 2024 the Assistant Director will tour with the production.
It is intended as an opportunity for a West Midlands based director in the earlier stages of their career.
